*Out in the country almost all the houses are built up on stilts – I guess it floods pretty badly during the rainy season.
*At the hotel the last two nights there have been these tiny little ants everywhere. Harmless, and at breakfast they proved to be edible, but still a bit of a nuisance when they are literally everywhere.
*At the hotel we did have some what of an upgrade to our previous shower arrangements. We actually had a tub and a shower curtain. My first sighting of the two together in the country. The entertaining part is that the shower head was at my mouth and the shower curtain was at my nose level so I had to squat down to get my hair wet. Apparently I am tall for a Thai girl :)
*It was so hot in Korat that we were showering 2 to 3 times a day
*This whole trip to Korat has been quite the experience. First we got one of their taxi/truck/bus combos to come and get all our luggage and take us to the airport in Chang Mai. The trucks as like this . . .
Exactly like a normal small pick up with a shell cover and benches built inside. It really is just a truck with a top. Some have specific routes – like a bus and they really pack people in and have them hanging out the back, while others function more like taxis that you flag down and they take you anywhere. So we loaded up our 3 large suitcases – 2 small suitcases, our backpack and our shoulder bag and took off to the airport where we got on a plane and flew to Bangkok.
