Later we got on the scooter again to visit Tun and Tay at their laundry shop. We spent the afternoon with them. ?Ee showed up too and we all jumped on scooters (Guy rode with us standing in between Matt’s feet on the scooter) and we went to a street stand to get some lunch and a fruit drink. We brought it all back to eat at the laundry shop. Tun and Tay work so hard. 8 am to 9pm every day they are at their shop washing, rinsing, ringing, hanging to dry, ironing, and folding clothes. And they iron every little thing. I helped Tun ring out and hang some clothes while all the boys caught up. Amnaad showed up too and that was a great reunion. Amnaad was Matt’s first Thai companion there in Thailand and they grew quite close. It was so nice to just spend the afternoon with these people to see how they work and live. The kids running around while the parents ironed and washed. The kids would bring Tay (the dad) paper and he would make them paper airplanes in between ironing the shirts. There were just cement walls, tile floor, and a large doorway opening and one window that lets the warm breeze blow through. So simple. I really grew to love this family and I could tell that Tun (the mom about my age) and I would be great friends is I could speak the language. She was a lot of fun.
This is them on their scooter with the attached basket taking laundry from place to place.
