Actual Up to Date Pictures

I am realizing that at the rate I am going with this blog I will never have a current picture of my kids posted - it will always be a month or so behind. With this in mind I am posting some random pictures from THIS WEEKEND because when you have a two year old and an almost 3 month old every month counts! So here are my kids as of 24 hours ago!!

This batch of photos was dedicated to showing off the little outfit that Ellie got in the mail from Brenda and Richard Brown (my Aunt and Uncle on Teresa's side!). Usually Ellie hates having her picture taken, which is why this first picture is so candid - I have to sneak up on her with the camera! :) Ellie totally surprised me though. She excitedly jumped up and started striking poses to show off her new pink dress then she came running over to me to see the pictures I had taken. She became quite the little model :)

The Jaws sound track really should have been playing in the background while I snuck up on her eating breakfast.

These pictures of Noah crack me up. I was trying to get him to roll over (which he eventually did YAY!), but I know he was just staring at me thinking, "You want me to do what?" I am still laughing about it.

A Girls' Night Out

Matt is part of a tight group of guys that have studied and worked together for the past two and a half years in medical school. As a result the wives have all bonded in our quest for survival. Here is a picture of a girls' night out that we arranged with the men. One night we stayed home with the kids while the guys all went out and saw "The Dark Knight" and in exchange the men stayed home the next week while us girlies went out to see "Mama Mia". It was an appropriate swap since none of the girls wanted to see "The Dark Knight" and there was NO WAY that any of the guys would have sat through "Mama Mia"! It was so great to get out especially since Noah was only 6 weeks old and I was excited to be getting out and about. We did, however miss Megan Trayner this particular night.

I had to add a couple of pictures of Ellie from that same day :)

Our Small Town Circus (Aug 7th)

Ellie's first circus . . . you can see by her expression that she was never quite sure what to think about all the acts. She stared in silent wonder through most of it, but now we can't get her to stop talking about it. She pretends to go to the circus to see the "animals and the juggle, juggle, juggle" and she acts out the juggling while she is talking about it. I've got the cutest kids.

Ellie's Fish Tank

What do you do to entertain a two year old when a new born is brought into the house? You buy her a fish tank, right?! Well, that is what we did anyway and it has been a hit. Matt's dad is a fish whiz (thanks to Marianne and Joseph) so while Mom and Dad were here to help with Noah, Dad took Ellie out to buy her first pets and to pick out the rocks and plants. (I got the fish tank and filter at a garage sale for $5 Yee-Hoo!) Well, thanks to the Backyardigans, Ellie is really into pirates these days so she is SO proud of her fish tank with the pirate ship that she picked out. It has been fun and she shows them off to everyone that comes over. Plus when she gets scared at night the fish become her little guardians as we remind her that she is not alone and that the fish are with her :) Ellie even thanks Heavenly Father for her fish when she prays. There really haven't been any problems with the fish either. No fish have died in the ten weeks that we have had it now (I am obviously slowly getting this blog updated) and we have only had TWO incidences of Ellie trying to "feed" the fish :) Now those are two huge marks of success! So far fish are very doable!
